Mindfulness is quite popular nowadays and is used in many contexts nowadays, with many different understandings of what the term means. Diana Winston of UCLA's Mindful Awareness Research Center offers a great definition:
“Paying attention to present moment experience with open curiosity and a willingness to be with what is.”

Positive Psychology is a branch of psychology that focuses on positive emotions, “flow,” mindfulness, meaning, and other areas that make people thrive. This is a relatively recent area of study and an increasing number of counselors work from this perspective. Claremont’s EAP provider network includes Positive Psychology specialists – just give us a call and let us know you’d like to work with a Positive Psychology clinician.
